San Bernard River flows from its headwaters northwest of San Felipe Texas to the Gulf of Mexico. It is one of the few rivers in Texas that empties directly into the Gulf of Mexico. The mouth is south of Lake Jackson, Texas, and crosses the Intracoastal Canal just before it reaches the Gulf. One of the things that contributes to the uniqueness of the San Bernard River is that; in one day you can go fishing, then take the family water skiing, and then top it off with a trip to the beach.
