The Strand has a huge variety of fun activities for people young and old. There are lots of quaint and unique shops and restaurants to choose from.  It is home to one of the oldest theaters in Texas, The Grand 1894 Opera House.

There are a growing number of residential lofts available for rent or purchase.  The loft concept of "elegant living spaces" was introduced in 1991 and has since become a popular alternative to the traditional living space.
